Coming Soon: Fearwoods

Woods are spooky. Even the most innocent copse can feel claustrophobic, with each shadow taking the shape of a slobbering monster or, in the case of this game from publisher GrabTheGames, a vengeful witch, stalking your every step.

Fearwoods is a co-op horror game in which you and your buddies team up to gather the pieces of a GPS system before high-tailing it to the chopper. Haste is tempting, but sound is the enemy, attracting the witch to your location.

First impressions are very favourable, with some dynamic lighting and sound effects enhancing the unnerving atmosphere. We found navigation a little frustrating, but there’s plenty of potential here for some terrifying Blair Witch-style chills.

Fearwoods’ demo is out now on Steam, and the developers are hoping to release an early access version in Q2. Stay tuned—and stick to the path.
