Coming Soon: Ground Zero

There was exciting news yesterday (1st April, but after 12pm so we hope its genuine!), when Leamington Spa publisher Kwalee and developer Malformation Games revealed their upcoming survival horror, Ground Zero.

Set within the shattered remains of South Korea following a meteor strike, the trailer gives off solid Resident Evil and Dino Crisis vibes, which is certainly no bad thing as far as Indie Horror Gamer is concerned. The player controls a Korean elite operative, sent in to the toxic zone two months post-impact. Your task: eliminate any hostiles and begin the decontamination process for the area. There’s something weird going on, however, with strange growths mutating the remaining population and wildlife.

With its (thankfully) optional tank controls and fixed camera perspectives, Ground Zero looks set to be a loving homage to horror games of the Nineties. You can watch the release trailer here, and the game is out on April 16th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). Look out for a review on Indie Horror Gamer.
