Coming Soon: Open Waters

Here’s another phobia to add to the list: Thalassophobia - a persistent fear of deep and dark water. This goes far beyond boring old fear of water (Aquaphobia), and is encapsulated in this incoming game from Fluffy The Game Dev.

In Open Waters’ minimalist plot, you’re trapped on the high seas inside a small boat. Various denizens of the waters are out to get you, and with no minimap, you must rely on your wits and a compass to negotiate the sea and make it back to dry land.

There’s no demo as yet, but check out this soggy trailer and keep your eye on the compass for Indie Horror Gamer’s review of the full game. With haunted locations, turbulent seas and deadly creatures of the deep, one thing’s for sure: an ocean of terror awaits.
