Coming Soon: Shift At Midnight
Yes, it’s retro-style anomaly spotting in a store, late at night! Again!
You’ve taken the midnight shift at a remote petrol station (as we call them here in the UK). Snacks adorn the shelves, there’s a pistol under the counter, and weird stuff is going on. Each customer places their ID card on the counter—your job is to scan this and use the data on the computer to ascertain whether they’re a real person or one of the lethal doppelgangers doing the rounds. If it’s the former, bag their shopping and send them on their way. If it’s the latter, blow them away without a moment’s hesitation. But don’t kill a real human by mistake!
Shift At Midnight touts itself as a multiplayer experience, with up to three players helping each other out as the inevitable anomalies begin to pile up. Keeping the store’s online reputation secure is a must—better mop up that blood!—and you can order plants, posters and more to maintain a welcoming vibe.
While familiar, Shift At Midnight’s demo is enormous fun, whether solo or with friends, and we look forward to the finished game some time this quarter.
