Steam Next Fest: Inky Blinky Bob

This open-world game is a curious affair, and one that’s tickled Indie Horror Gamer, despite a few initially frustrating control issues.

You’re a pilot, flying in to a remote set of islands. In the spirit of Umbrella, a chemicals company has been tinkering with something they shouldn’t, and all hell has broken loose, devastating the human population. And most pertinently, there’s a gigantic monster flying about, hurling spit and bile at anything that moves. Not to worry.

Inky Blinky Bob’s short demo offers a few surprises, mixing balloon flying with on-foot exploration. There’s also a decent otherworldly mood to the islands and some imaginative enemies, even over the hour or so of game on show in the demo.
