If you enjoyed 2023's sleeper hit, the boat-bound, Lovecraft-infused Dredge, then Dreadmoor looks like it could be another winner. Taking control of a beaten-up trawler and exploring the rotting, submerged remnants of humanity, there's fishing, bizarre characters and more in this new game that looks to evoke the spirit of the Black Salt classic.
Many of the game's mechanics are in its demo, available on Steam now. We do hope, however, that the voiceovers, especially the player's character, improve for the full release. There's considerable discussion on its Community pages about whether they're AI-generated—which the developer denies. Either way, they're not up to standard, so let's hope they're shipshape in time for sailing.
