If, like us, you were beguiled by 2023’s eldritch fishing sim Dredge, then this incoming game looks like it’ll scratch a similar itch. The player is an unnamed (so far) fisherman, obsessed with securing just one more catch. With only your rod and a handful of beers for company, it inevitably becomes apparent that there’s something out there you need to catch… before it catches you.

It’ll be intriguing to witness what gameplay Hookeye offers. We’ve already experienced something similar this year with the excellent Crabmeat, and the screenshot below reminds us of Lewis Finch’s segment in What Remains Of Edith Finch.
