In this pixel homage game, you’re a humble security officer, deep within the fabled Area 51. Every day, staff troop up and down the mountain, and it’s your job to fish out the alien infiltrators/exfiltrators.

Security 51 is essentially a point-and-click anomaly-spotting game that unfolds day by day. Each shift reveals more tools at your disposal, such as an X-ray machine and a camera. Diligent use of these, plus a healthy dollop of acute observance, is key to keeping out the xenos and keeping the genuine humans safe.

The cynical among you might dismiss this game as a mere Papers, Please clone. And to a certain extent, you’re right! But, from our experience with its demo, Security 51 looks to be adding its own particular sheen to that formula, and we’ll have to wait until later this year to see how that plays out in the full game.
