It only seems like yesterday when developer December Blues Games released its Resident Evil homage, The Mute House. Now, it's back, with a new tale that blends that famous series with a healthy dollop of Dead Space and a dash of Frictional's Soma.

Faithless Water begins with a gratuitous slice of female nudity that certainly harks back to Nineties gaming (plus the 2002 Resident Evil movie adaptation), but fortunately, the protagonist is soon practically dressed and exploring the underwater base they've woken up in.

We're in classic survival-horror territory here, with fixed-camera views, lumbering monstrosities, and an acute lack of weaponry and ammunition. Inventory management is another critical gameplay element, so if all these things strike a chord, Faithless Water could be for you.

There's no official release date yet, but you can play the demo on Steam now.
