Imagine the anomaly-spotting genre crossed with the Paranormal Activity movies, and you’re most of the way there to VCR83, the latest game from Romanian developer Tarba Paul Cornel. Oh, and add in a dash of desktop fourth-wall-breaking.

In VCR83, you take control of several security cameras, scouring each location for hints of, well, paranormal activity. Cups and paintings go walkabout, appliances suddenly switch on, and demons appear from nowhere. If you see something odd, click it to report it. Once the required number of anomalies is spotted, it’s on to the next haunted location. There’s a seedy, voyeuristic edge as the player seeks out the hidden dangers before it’s too late.

The demo for VCR83 is available on Steam now and is well worth investigating. Expect the full game within the next month or so.
