Every neighbourhood has its secrets, and in What The Walls Withheld, it’s the DeJoie Estate, abandoned for 30 years following the death of its matriarch, Francine DeJoie, in 1953. As a dare, you’ve entered the large building, determined to spend the night within its spooky walls. Only these walls, like most, have a story to tell.

Throughout the mansion are letters, notes and fragments from Francine’s will—collecting these reveals the shocking truth behind the elusive figure that’s stalking you throughout. While thematically similar to Welcome To Home Ownership, What The Walls Withheld ditches the 90s aesthetic in favour of a more conventional horror experience. The player is initially confronted with several locked doors and must solve puzzles to acquire the relevant keys. It isn’t long before you get the distinct feeling you’re being watched…
