Plura Ingenia: Patient 16 is a psychological horror with a twist, as the player explores an abandoned hospital in search of an escape. That in itself is nothing original, but here’s the play: you’re taking part in some sort of experiment, studied for your reactions to certain situations, as well as your responses to sets of questions.

Developer Oblique Interactive has, from the evidence of its demo, created an immensely atmospheric scenario, combined with perplexing puzzles and a seemingly benign doctor, who offers tips and advice over an intercom. There looks to be a dramatic backstory to discover, too, as well as distorted visions that could be real… or not. Given the meaning of the Latin segment of its name (‘Many minds’), plus its promotional picture, it’s also quite possible there’s a multiple personality thread to be explored here.
