Welcome to the subject facility! You are not a number, you—well, actually you are a number. Number 404, to be exact.

You have no name, no memory, nothing. You wake up in a strange test facility, a monotone voice issuing commands and advice. In each room is ‘the panel’, a device that must be obeyed should you wish to avoid the Executioner.

Inside every room is a quick fire puzzle, such as ‘Touch the blue object’ or ‘Shoot all but the red objects’. Sometimes, it’s a maths question. Sometimes it asks you something about an earlier room. Then, after a set number, it’s on to the next collection of devious challenges.

Presented in the common PSX retro style, Subject 404 is a tense and sometimes frustrating demo. But you only have yourself to blame should you mess up. And you WILL mess up!
