Coming Soon: Senara: The Sacrament

Developer: Influsion Inc

Publisher: Influsion Inc

Platforms: PC

Release Date: 30th July

We are big fans of ocean-bound horror here at Indie Horror Gamer, harking back to the PlayStation 2 game Cold Fear and the first Resident Evil: Revelations, not to mention cinematic classics such as Deep Rising and Ghost Ship. And now we have Senara: The Sacrament, in which you play a newbie sailor, trapped in the depths of a deserted cruise liner. Only it ain’t deserted. Obvs.

Senara is a first-person survival horror game in which the player explores the massive ship, unlocking new locations and battling zombie-like creatures. In a nod to the Visceral legend, Dead Space, a maniacal cult has appropriated the vessel, using it for its nefarious plan to take over the world. Or something. Fortunately, in the finest tradition of Steven Seagal in Under Siege, this lone seaman is highly experienced when it comes to weaponry, wielding knives, pistols and more with uncanny skill.

Senara’s location is its selling point, a meticulously constructed maze of steel corridors and low ceilings. Whether the promised revelations live up to the backdrop remains to be seen, but for survival horror fans, it shows potential. Watch out for an Indie Horror Gamer review when Senara finally sets sail later this month.
