In the Pixar smash hit, Monsters Inc, the titular beasts travel to children’s rooms via a warehouse full of doors. Imagine that scenario, crossed with one of Indie Horror Gamer’s favourites, The Cabin Factory, and you’re more or less at this game from developer David Gallardo, already a veteran of the scene with games such as Doll Imposter, 8AM and Floors.

The anomaly-spotting gameplay will be familiar to anybody who’s played The Cabin Factory: A door drops down, and it’s your job as an inspector to nip inside and have a nose around. If everything looks normal, return to the factory floor, press the big green button and the door’s approved for production. Something not looking quite right? Better press the red one.

Yes, it’s very Cabin Factory, but the appeal with The Door Factory looks to be the variation of areas to assess. How interesting this is, and how the dev squeezes the tension and horror in will be key to its success.

There’s no demo yet, and no firm release date, though it’s slated for release sometime this year.
